Manifesto

For the media.

Médianes is a resource center, a mutual-aid network, and a studio dedicated to the media, to those who establish media outlets, and to those who produce media content.

For many years now, the media have been facing multiple crises, linked in particular to their business models, mistrust from their audiences, and the impact of digital technology. But everywhere—both online and in print—new players are rising to the challenge and offering solutions.

Feminism, diversity, rural life, an inclusive and sustainable society… new voices are being heard. It is essential to listen to them; enabling them to emerge as media outlets is a major democratic issue. At the same time, developing viable and sound models to ensure quality journalism is vital.

Civil society actors, journalists, or simply passionate individuals: our goal is to support this movement, inspire new talent, provide the resources needed to achieve their ambitions, and help media organizations develop a viable business model centered on their audiences—that is why Médianes is launching today.

Médianes aims to provide, free of charge and on a nonprofit basis, the methods, tips, and resources needed to get started, and to connect those who are taking the plunge.

To help these media outlets grow, accelerate their projects, and expand their communities, Médianes is also a strategy, marketing, and creative studio, tailored to their vision and budget, and there to support them every step of the way.
