Today, let's get moving
Hello, everyone,
In our latest issue, we invited you to our back-to-school party. Originally scheduled for tonight, we’ve decided to postpone it due to current events. The party has been rescheduled for February 16—same time, same place. We’ll tell you more below.
In this issue, we feature an interview with Jean Abbiateci, founder of the newsletter platform Bulletin, about turning a newsletter into a printed book. And in our roundup, you’ll find job openings, events, and even a contest.
Finally, this week we’d like to welcome Mathilde Carlier, who is joining the team asMédianes an intern! Mathilde is (soon to be) a graduate of Audencia SciencesCom in Nantes.
Enjoy the read,
— Marine Doux and Baptiste Thevelein

Ideas for Your Media
Ready to shake up your routines? It’s time to steer your project toward a sustainable model. Editorial, technical, communications… Three concrete and easily implementable solutions for addressing the challenges posed by the ecological crisis within your media organization.
Adapt the editorial
A cross-cutting approach to climate issues is the first point addressed in the Charter for Journalism That Meets the Challenge of the Ecological Emergency. The Christian daily La Croix, a signatory to the charter, has just undergone a transformation that involves integrating environmental coverage into its business section. “Fundamentally, the economic sphere is the key pivot,” explains Jérôme Chapuis, the newspaper’s editor-in-chief, to Vert.
Create an Eco-Friendly Website
Who says an eco-friendly website has to be ugly and clunky? Align yourself with your values by reducing your own environmental impact. Some best practices to adopt include: choosing a green hosting provider, minimizing code, and opting for a clean, minimalist design. The result? Pages that load faster and a better user experience.
Demonstrate transparency
To reduce your emissions, there’s nothing like measuring them. Several tools can help you, such as the Carbo website, the Ecotree calculator, or this chart created by Le Monde’s video department. Then communicate how you’re putting your vision into action by publishing a sustainability report. At the Norwegian group Schibsted, this also takes the form of an impact report.

THE FAIR PRICE
A dynamic paywall with variable pricing? That’s the gamble The Atlantic magazine is taking this new year. Its stated goal: “to determine the price ceiling for its subscriptions, increase its revenue per reader (ARPU), and encourage subscription renewals.” ” Prices range from $60 to $100 depending on readers’ likelihood of subscribing, as calculated based on their behavior on the site.

LIVE RETIREMENTS
On Twitch, streamer Jean Massiet breaks down the pension reform for 18- to 35-year-olds. Because the new generation is interested in these issues. “They’re turning away from the traditional and usual channels of politics: political parties and unions. […] The key is not to treat young people like idiots or schoolchildren.”
