A Good Brief
Hello, everyone,
It’s a pleasure to be in touch with you again at the end of June for the studio’sMédianes final newsletter before the summer break.
Today we continue our series of articles on design, with a focus on the creative brief.
When it comes to developing an artistic direction or creating visuals, it’s very helpful to be able to delegate the task to someone whose job it is to do just that. But how can you communicate effectively to ensure that your product and your vision are clearly understood? We’ve put together a list of questions to help you gain a clearer understanding.
In the media section, we’re republishing an article from *Le Temps* that encourages readers to examine the role of published articles, and we’re sharing 10 key takeaways from the 2023 Digital News Report with Alice Antheaume, one of its co-authors.
In this issue, you’ll also find studio news featuring *Désoriental*, *Vert*, *Arrêt sur images*, and *Plouheran*. Finally, we invite you to join us on July 10 in Paris to celebrate the release of the second season of our podcast *Chemins*.
Enjoy the read!

Expressing Your Needs and Articulating Your Values: The Creative Brief
Today, we’ll discuss the questions to consider when crafting a good creative brief—the information a graphic designer will need to help guide you in the right direction.
We first perceive a new object—whether in print or on a screen—with our eyes: Does it catch my attention? Do I want to click on it or flip through it? It’s only once we’ve passed this first (decisive) step that it becomes possible…
Christelle Perrin is the associate artistic director of Médianes. On a day-to-day basis, she collaborates on and leads all design-related projects: web and print mockups, visual identities, and data visualization.

But what good is my article, anyway?
During its daily editorial meeting, Le Temps asks itself a simple question about each article on the day’s agenda: What purpose does it serve? As surprising as it may seem, this is a new approach that can change the way the team approaches its work.
