Ideas for Your Media
How can you make your project accessible? Today, 12 million French people—or 20% of the population—live with a disability. That figure rises to 40% when temporary disabilities are included. Here are our tips for making your media outlet (truly) inclusive.
For its audio content
You can also listen with your eyes. Tired of texts that struggle to convey the emotions in voices, the podcast *More Than This* has been experimenting with immersive transcripts since last year. Here, the rhythm, tone, and even the pauses are rendered visually, with a poetic touch. Want to give it a try? Follow the tips from the experts for a successful transcription.
For its website
An accessible website benefits more people than you might think: people with many types of disabilities, but also those whose abilities decline with age or who might not be able to play your audio content at that moment. The ultimate bonus? These pages load faster on slow Internet connections. High-contrast design, text alternatives, responsive interface… Follow the guide.
For its social media accounts
Your content is accessible, and so is your website. Now it’s time to think about social media. Key points include: avoiding excessive use of emojis and keywords, providing appropriate alt text for your images and GIFs, and offering live captions for all your live streams. Until these habits become second nature, this checklist can help you.

An evening to get to know each other
We are pleased to begin a consulting engagement with the management team at France Médias Monde (RFI, France 24, and MCD) on digital and strategic monitoring.
Publishing innovations, organizational transformations, relationships with GAFAM… Every month, we prepare a newsletter featuring industry trends and analysis for senior management.
After helping the public broadcasting group with its podcast strategy, it’s a pleasure to be able to collaborate once again with the teams at the Digital Environments Division.

WORDS AND WORDS
More words, always words… To build loyalty and earn the trust of their audiences, should the media tell them only what they want to hear? At a time when societies are becoming increasingly polarized, it is the media’s responsibility to challenge conventional wisdom to avoid fueling these trends.

YOU HAVE A MESSAGE
The Sahan Journal, a local media outlet based in Minnesota (United States), has been testing voice-note newsletters since November. This innovative editorial approach allows the newspaper to provide its subscribers with an audio summary of three or four local news stories throughout the week, sent directly via text message.

DEVELOPING A PRODUCT STRATEGY
Design, tech, marketing, editorial… in the media industry, it’s not always easy to bring all these disciplines to the table. Yet defining and implementing a strategy requires cohesion and a shared foundation to effectively engage the audience. In three words? The product approach.
