A wide-ranging program
Hello, everyone,
Over the past few months, more than 350 founders, executives, and project leaders have taken an interest and helped us develop this new project… And we’re delighted to share more with you today: this Monday, we officially opened applications for the Programme Médianes.
The Programme Médianes is 9 months of support—3 months of group training and 6 months of individual coaching with a team of professionals, including members of the Médianes team and experts in media and entrepreneurship. The goal? To provide you with methods and tools to develop your project and scale up.
The program covers a wide range of topics to provide comprehensive support: business operations, business models, management, administrative matters, visual identity, marketing, communication…
In this newsletter, we’re discussing business models, with a practical guide to help you with this project. Also on the media front this month, we feature an interview with Augustin Naepels, CEO of Les Jours, who shares the essential steps for launching your own media outlet.
In the news: the results of our work on the POLITICO and L’Intimiste websites, the completion of a great project carried out alongside Stup Média, and the start of a new one with Fracas. And also, a quick update on the release of our book with the announcement of a launch party on April 2 👀
Enjoy the read!

Augustin Naepels (Les Jours): “A media outlet is, above all, an entrepreneurial venture”
Augustin Naepels serves as CEO of the online media outlet Les Jours. As the team’s only co-founder who is not a journalist, he has been responsible for the technical and financial aspects of managing the media outlet since its inception in 2016. From legal procedures to accounting, including the development of a business plan, Augustin Naepels details the essential steps for launching a media outlet, with a focus on management.

⟶ A New Website for POLITICO
A few days ago, POLITICO unveiled its new website in Europe. In collaboration with the agencies Anagram and 10up, we designed this redesign to prepare for the 2024 election year and to support the media outlet’s expansion in Paris, London, and Berlin. A new visual identity, smoother navigation, greater prominence for podcasts and newsletters, and a cleaner page layout… All these changes have helped optimize the overall user experience on the website. Here’s a behind-the-scenes look at the project.
⟶ Developing a Groundbreaking Model: Stup Média
At the start of the 2023 school year, Stup Média (which brings together the YouTube channels of Stupid Economics, Spline LND, Léa Bello, and Vincent Manilève) approached Médianes to become better recognized by its institutional audiences and strengthen its community, while maintaining its financial independence and collective structure. Marketing and communications audit, roadmap… We’re pleased to present the work carried out alongside them.
⟶ The launch of Fracas
You may have seen their newsletter, which already has over 1,000 subscribers? Fracas, the media outlet covering environmental activism, is making its debut on the media scene. We’re thrilled to partner with them on a project to prepare for their launch in terms of marketing, communications, design, and technical aspects. On your marks… Get set!
⟶ A New Website for L’Intimiste
Going against the grain of traditional news, L’Intimiste has been sharing stories of everyday life—experienced here and elsewhere—through the lens of intimacy since 2019. Last year, the outlet enlisted Médianes to support it on strategy, graphic design, and technical aspects. The goal? To grow the project and open a new stage of development for L’Intimiste, notably through a new website. A summary of the project is available on the studio’s website.
⟶ Médianes’ book is being polished
Are you interested in starting a media outlet but don’t know where to begin? Methods, case studies, interviews with leaders and experts… Médianes is set to release a print handbook to support you in this entrepreneurial adventure! We’re working on the final details, but in the meantime, mark your calendars for April 2: we’ll be at La Gaîté Lyrique to present the project alongside the people who made it happen (and to celebrate the launch together, of course).
