You are the product

Hello, everyone,

It's not too late: the entire Médianes team joins me in wishing you a Happy New Year 2023! In this first behind-the-scenes studio newsletter of the year, we wanted to look back on the past year so we can better present Médianes' roadmap for the months ahead.

We hope to see you there to discuss this on February 16 in Paris, at L’Impasse (4 Cité Griset, 75011 Paris), starting at 7:30 p.m., for a small back-to-school gathering. Please register (RSVP).

2022, for Médianes, means:

  • Strategy, marketing, and design projects carried out for more than 40 clients, including 20 new projects.
  • Our first permanent hires: Juliette Cahen and Pauline Butel have joined the team.
  • The first edition of the Festival Imprimé, held just outside Bordeaux, and preparations for the second edition in the spring of 2023.
  • 🎓 Presentations at schools: ESJ Lille, EPJ Tours, Sciences Po Paris, IEJ Paris, Gobelins, EMI.
  • A goal achieved: 250,000 euros in annual revenue (+47%).
  • "Chemins," the first podcast from Médianes, featuring interviews with media founders.
  • Two issues of the magazine *Pays*, which we co-founded, devoted to Paris-Belleville and Mayotte.
  • 🏦 Approximately 200,000 euros were raised through fundraising and donation campaigns conducted with our customers.
  • We've reached the 2,000-subscriber mark for our two newsletters: "Trends and Analysis" and "Behind the Scenes at the Studio" (this one!).
  • 🌍 Assignments abroad, working with 20 media outlets from the Balkans for CFI, and the American media outlet The Dial.

And in 2023:

  • Offices in Paris for the team, which will be expanding this year.
  • 🧑‍🏫 The expansion of our activities and partnerships in the field of training.
  • The publication of our practical guides for media founders.
  • 🤘 Ambitious digital transformation projects with established media companies.
  • Equally ambitious new media launches.

Thanks to you, we’re making progress. Please feel free to contact us if you’d like to discuss a project or our activities.

In the rest of this newsletter, you'll find Maxime Leroy's column on product culture—an area that still needs to be developed in the media—as well as the latest news from the studio.

Enjoy the read!

Maxime Leroy is an entrepreneur and consultant specializing in audience and community development, having led or supported numerous teams at The New York Times, CNN, Le Monde, and Meetup.
