Management & Project Management

Since 2020, we have been Médianessupporting media organizations, NGOs, and institutions through their transformations. We help teams plan their projects and growth strategies, establish their organizational structure, and recruit the right talent.

Are you looking to build your team, get a project off to a good start, or support an internal transformation? Tell us more about your project by filling out our form. We’ll get back to you directly.

Our Support

In the media, management is too often pushed into the background, even though it is key to the success of all projects. At [Company Name]Médianes, we make it a cornerstone of our support.

In practice, this involves a cross-functional approach: we bring journalists, product teams, marketing, and technical teams together to ensure both editorial consistency and operational efficiency. This approach is grounded in a deep understanding of the realities of the industry, where impact often takes precedence over available resources—which drives us to adapt our methods rather than apply one-size-fits-all solutions.

This expertise is also informed by daily monitoring of the media and community projects across Europe. But successful support goes beyond mere methods: it relies on sound management—based on transparency, trust, and skill development—to build healthy work environments. Finally, when an organization undergoes significant growth, we help it navigate this transition without losing sight of its mission.

We address these issues in our journalistic content, at events such as the Perugia International Journalism Festival, and through the publication of a guide to project management in newsrooms.

Our services

To provide you with the best possible support, we offer the following services.

Building a Team

Whether a media organization or an NGO is experiencing rapid growth or changing its business model, we help it structure its organization, clarify its priorities, and adapt its methods. This involves defining a roadmap, clarifying roles, recruiting the right talent, and implementing appropriate tools to strengthen editorial alignment and organizational agility.

With Vert, we worked with management to clarify roles, establish an internal structure, and recruit a marketing manager. With Arrêt sur images, we defined a marketing strategy and adapted its organizational structure by addressing the entire production, distribution, and communication chain. We carry out these types of projects with numerous media outlets and NGOs, whether through the ProgramMédianes’s media partners, Climax, or Disclose.

Leading the Transformation

When a media outlet or institution wants to evolve its editorial or organizational strategy, we help it integrate new practices, tools, and formats while leveraging its core strengths. We work to both consolidate existing operations and lay the groundwork for new editorial offerings.

In 2023, we supported RFI’s new management team in implementing strategic changes through benchmarks, internal studies, and participatory workshops to structure the editorial team’s projects. In 2024, we helped the INA lay the groundwork for a video strategy targeting English-speaking audiences by combining editorial, marketing, and organizational planning. In 2025, we supported the City of Paris’s news division—comprising more than 55 professionals across the editorial and social media departments—in harmonizing its editorial practices and strengthening cross-team coordination.

Involve the teams

We believe that any editorial or digital transformation must begin by listening to the teams. Surveys, interviews, and group workshops: these methods help us understand actual practices, identify obstacles, and develop solutions tailored to the needs and resources of each organization.

In 2024, we conducted an in-depth internal consultation process (surveys and one-on-one interviews) with the teams at *Le Monde diplomatique* to support the publication in redefining its online editorial strategy. These discussions served as the basis for formulating concrete and tailored recommendations, aligning digital practices, internal organization, and editorial identity to propose a realistic and sustainable strategy. We have carried out similar projects with Arrêt sur images, Le Monde, and RFI, among many others.

Produce market intelligence and benchmarks

When a media outlet or institution needs to make strategic decisions, we help it draw on concrete data and in-depth knowledge of best practices in France and Europe. We continuously analyze editorial, community, and organizational initiatives. We produce regular reports on new editorial formats, artificial intelligence, organizational and management practices, and distribution strategies.

For France Médias Monde’s Digital Division, we developed a customized monthly monitoring service from 2023 to 2024: a strategic newsletter, thematic reports, and regular discussions to inform editorial, organizational, marketing, and HR decisions.

Facilitate a strategic seminar

When an organization wants to take a step back as a group and rally its team around shared projects, we step in to design and facilitate tailored group sessions.

In 2024, Harmonie Santé, a mutual insurance media company, enlisted Médianesto plan and facilitate its team seminar. Objectives: to strengthen team cohesion, take a step back to reflect on successes and challenges, and engage employees in concrete projects. We designed a full day alternating between hands-on workshops, presentations, and social activities, followed by a report outlining recommendations that prioritized short-, medium-, and long-term actions. We provided similar support to the teams at Les Jours and Disclose.

Providing Ongoing Support to Management

We also offer dedicated mentoring—most often for media executives—to provide regular, personalized support regarding a project’s strategic decisions.

This support takes the form of regular video conference calls, scheduled across several monthly time slots with one or more dedicated team membersMédianes. It is accompanied by the sharing of educational resources, on which the participant receives feedback throughout the support process. We provide this type of mentoring in various settings, notably through the ProgramMédianes. We also support rapidly growing media outlets using this format, such as Vert et Mouvement.

Our services are customizable, flexible, and eligible for funding. Prices start at €850 (excluding tax) for a mentoring assignment or assistance with organizing a strategic seminar.

Depending on your situation, they may be funded:

  • through a campaign or launch budget,
  • through a public or private grant,

How long does a coaching program last?

Our services are tailored to your needs. Some projects last just a few days or weeks to address a specific need—such as strategic planning, a graphic redesign, or a training module. What is Qualiopi certification?

By earning Qualiopi certification, Médianes has received recognition for the quality of the process it has implemented for its training programs. The goal is both to guarantee the high quality of the training we offer and to enable you to receive training through professional training assistance.

How can I pay for coaching or training?

They can be funded with your own resources, through a public or private grant, or covered as part of vocational training when they take the form of a training program (Médianes is a Qualiopi-certified training organization).

In this case, there are several options available depending on your status, including your OPCO if you are an employee (AFDAS in the media sector), the AFDAS freelance fund if you are a freelance journalist, assistance from France Travail, SCAM grants, your training insurance fund if you are self-employed, or an installment plan using your own funds.

No, not yet: they are not recognized by France Compétences under the RNCP. We hope to successfully submit an application for recognition of a media founder certification.
