In the face of social and environmental crises or the transformation of the world of work, some media outlets are becoming veritable practical guides. Offering advice and guidance to provide more information: a way to serve their readership, as exemplified by *New York Magazine*, *Madness*, and *Vert*. Shall we guide you?
Create a very practical guide
In its May 23 issue, *New York Magazine* turned into a public service guide. Beyond its journalistic mission—to analyze and provide insights— the magazine has taken on a genuine mission: to help women obtain abortions. Faced with the threat to abortion rights in the United States, the editorial team asks simple questions: Where can I find a clinic? Who can I turn to? But above all, the publication has chosen to lift its paywall on its website for all articles on this topic. A welcome and essential initiative.

A to Z Guide
Maddyness, a media outlet focused on entrepreneurship, launched in March the 6th edition of Backpack, a guide for those who want to start their own business. Covering topics such as concept, communication, management, recruitment, corporate culture, and financing—combining expert advice with practical guides—the guide serves as a turnkey resource. A published product under the Maddyness media brand, which allows it to diversify andestablish itself as a true point of reference in the entrepreneurial world.

Illustrate solutions
Illustrating and quantifying the data helps provide a clearer picture. That’s exactly what the Vert newsletter has chosen to do. The publication shows how much a French person contributes to carbon emissions. But above all, the newsletter guides readers by offering concrete solutions through “first steps to save the climate” to reduce their carbon footprint. All of this is presented through illustrations. These are the first educational and practical infographics the outlet has shared. It’s a format that easily adapts to Instagram, allowing the outlet to reach and guide a wider audience.

Editor's Note: Médianes, the studio, is supporting Vert in their strategic development this spring 2022.
